Jon Krakauer- Had a similar expirience to Chris. He compares himself to Chris, which could cause his opinion on Chris to be biased. They both went on outrageous solo adventures. Both Jon and Chris went on these adventures to escape their lives. They did not like personal connections with people. Also, they both did not have good relationships with their fathers. Although Chris did not like strong personal connection with people, he sometimes wrote letters to people that he met along the way of his journey. When Jon met Kai, and was listening to her sleeping, he felt empty and realized that he was going to miss civilization.
